Henley on Thames Singing Group / Choir

Sing, laugh, socialise, feel uplifted and make new friends at our Henley singing group!

Our Henley choir started at The Christ Church Centre in Henley in 2019, and the singing group now meets at the Henley 60+ Club on Thursdays at 11am.

The Henley choir is a sociable, inclusive and friendly group, where everyone soon becomes part of the close knit SYPA family. The group is as much about laughter and socialising as it is about singing.

There are no performances and no judgement. We sing for joy, health and wellbeing. it doesn't matter if you have a good voice or think you can't sing - everyone is welcome.

The singing group is open to adult men and women, and there is no minimum or maximum age.  We are lucky to have a lovely mix of ladies and gents voices in the group which creates a beautiful sound.

We would love to have some more singers, so why not come along to our next open rehearsal for a free trial session? You will be assured a very warm welcome.

Henley Singing Group Ethos

Like all of our SYPA singing groups, the Henley choir is as much about socialising and feel-good factor as it is about singing. Each week we have a sociable cuppa and catch-up after class and the group has a WhatsApp group for exchanging news and photos, as well as arranging practicalities like lift shares.

Twice a year we join up with our sister SYPA groups at our "BIG Sing" where we raise the roof together and then enjoy some social time over a buffet. We also have periodic social gatherings like our summer breakfast meetup!

The group is open to everyone regardless of singing ability, and there is absolutely no judgement. You certainly don't need to be in pain to join us, but if you are, rest assured that our Henley singing venue is fully accessible with free parking onsite and close to public transport. There is also the option to sit or stand or move around as you wish during our session.
